Jerky

I just had ostrich and eland jerky. Eland is a type of Southern Africa antelope. The ostrich was in a big chewy chunk covered in coriander seeds. The eland was in small bite size bits and the texture of one of the pieces I had could be compared to smoked fish. They were both pretty tasty. The ostrich oddly had kind of a fishy taste and was peppered liberally, but not overpoweringly. The eland, while you were eating it, had this kind of thyme-y scent float up the passage that connected my nose and mouth and hover in the back of my nasal passage. My dad said that he got it from a South African coworker who had just come back from a trip home. Yum. Exotic jerky.
